Visionica is the experimental incubator of projects and cultural events that the non-profit association Amici di Mediateca will be developing in the 2014-16 three-year period with Mediateca Santa Teresa – Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense in the premises in via Moscova 28, Milan. The focus of Visionica will be the multi-media as a factor of innovation in the creative exchange between Art, Science and Technology. It will be structured in a seasonal programme of events opening the Mediateca Santa Teresa to the widest possible free public use, enhancing and completing its particular features and combining its programming with the offer of a public service for consultation guaranteed by the Institute.
VISIONICA’s programme envisages the following activities for the Fuorisalone:
BRERA DESIGN DISTRICT MEDIA POINT
Providing direct, personal, to-the-point and updated information is a recognised, indispensable value of hospitality in general and in particular of large urban events. The BBD Media point will be the information point for all journalists. A relaxation area for all the Mediateca audience will be created in cooperation with Lago.
MONSTER IN THE SPOTLIGHT - DUCATI
As in the world of design, where the work takes into account light and shadow, Ducati and IED (European Design Institute) will together be proposing a multi-sensory process, a series of shadow art installations, a form of sculpture which, instead of shaping matter, creates shadows to tell us about the new Monster 1200.
MARTINI RACING LOUNGE
From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, the Martini Racing Lounge (Brera Design District Official Bar), will be hosting the most glamorous aperitif in the city, based on Martini Royale and classic Martini Dj Set cocktails, Sound Design performances, Visual art and workshops will animate the Martini Racing Lounge, to celebrate and bring to life the Martini world and lifestyle.
An experimental platform conceived by international young creatives aiming to generate connections with the public, with the purpose of gathering individual opinions of the event by interviews, to create an art installation describing the whole week. Unofficial report is a project supported by Ducati.
pop-up store where the visitor will be able to handle MT tapes and discuss possible interior solutions with an expert. In the Mini Store, as well as the Casa line, it will also be possible to buy the MT Ex, MT Mina, Olle Eksell lines and all the other tapes suitable for decorating objects.
open-air installation purpose-designed for the garden of the Mediateca Santa Teresa, where the walls will be covered with MT tapes revolutionising the concept of exterior decoration.
An exhibition by the competitors in the packaging contest Oscar dell’imballaggio 2014, Quality Design. Prize-giving to the winners at 4 p.m. on 9 April, on the occasion of the design lesson by Valeria Bucchetti, School of Design, Milan Polytechnic.
The Exhibition and display design is by Alberto Pizzati Caiani and Massimo Sirelli. The display is inspired by the warehouse of a Transport company, where boxes full of Robots are stacked, awaiting departure for various “adoption” destinations. It will be possible to adopt the robots exhibited during the show.
Design Lessons is a project by Stefano Casciani, Anna Del Gatto and Maurizio Malabruzzi conducted by Ugo Gregoretti and produced by Rai Educational. Design Lessons will be shown during the fuorisalone. The documentaries have also given the cue for a series of talks which will set off a debate on contemporary styles.
From an experimentation guided by Telecom Italia and Milan Polytechnic, in cooperation with Fuorisalone.it, we will see some videos showing how the city responds to the Fuorisalone. Flows, routes, social activities that arise from the territory are analysed in real time to deliver a digital representation of the city in an innovative way of interpreting its evolution and daily heartbeat.
ANIMA – IN ANOTHER LIGHT
An evocative art installation inducing us to contemplate the beauty of the natural, where gems and crystals blossom from a wooden casing, in the form of symbolic but entertaining points of light.
