At FuoriSalone 2014’s Brera Design District circuit at via Maroncelli 2, DESIGNSPEAKING will present a B2B and B2C event. Four display windows on a "cool" street allow designers and companies to showcase their latest innovations to the industry-savvy public – Italian and international – present in Milan for the Salone del Mobile. It also gives participants the opportunity to exhibit, promote and sell their products in a highly stimulating atmosphere throughout April. The space will host the TEMPORARY STORE and DESIGNSPEAKING CAFÉ BY MOKADOR, in addition to the second edition of TALENT'S MANIFESTO and other events that will be scheduled for the second half of April. The project is curated by Manuel Barbieri, young designer, and Guendalina Perelli, communications expert; founders of DESIGNSPEAKING: the innovative platform that includes the online magazine www.designspeaking.com and a communication and distribution system designed to serve, in particular, young designers "under 30" and start-ups. The 2014 Edition of TALENT'S MANIFESTO* – a project conceived in 2013 to offer a platform for young people who have a passion for design, but even more for making – is aimed at designers, graphic artists, fashion designers and artists who have not yet turned 30 and who want to get involved with a new project at FuoriSalone. This year's edition is titled DESIGNSPEAKING TOGETHER! and revolves around the theme of socialization.
For the brand partners involved in the TEMPORARY STORE, DESIGNSPEAKING has also created a casual yet sophisticated space, thanks to a new eco-friendly wall covering by Sk1n, where visitors are inspired to socialize and exchange ideas on the latest design trends as they browse through furniture, lamps, design accents and accessories for the home and kitchen. The main interface is with the companies present: the delicate, dreamy Abhajour lamps by Rita Scarpinato, interact with the ultra-contemporary lines of what Renata Crespi has put together with the bath design by Habi-Bath and with the limited edition rabbit-lamp by Noon Art&Craft. An intriguing play between materials is on offer with the ceramics presented by Avalon and the marble accessories of Scandola Marmi, and between the wood and metal of the Steel Wood modular shelving designed by Henry&Co. Look at Codice Collective Design's glass table reflected in Ecoepoque’s ironic mirrors, made by artisan craftsmen with eco-friendly materials. DESIGNSPEAKING pays particular attention to sustainability on one hand and social issues on the other, such as the Mabile kitchen designed for disabled people by Rita Scarpinato and Sergio Destro. All in an atmosphere imbued with the aroma of coffee emanating from the innovative “GUSTOCAFÉ” furniture covers and accessories, a green project designed by Raul Laurì and Umberto Dattola and presented especially on this occasion. This enticing scent invites visitors to linger in the DESIGNSPEAKING CAFÉ BY MOKADOR, the first selfie-bar for “design lovers”: a space where you can make yourself a delicious, 100% Italian espresso with the new DADO 2.0. It's simple to use and its sophisticated aesthetic is the fruit of the creativity of designer Gianni Bortolotti, internationally recognized as a master of Italian design.
