Over 25 years of fair trade in Italy

Ctm Altromercato is the main fair trade organization in Italy. It is a consortium of non profit organizations that promote and spread awareness about fair trade through a network of about 300 “Altromercato World Shops”.

Altromercato establishes direct trade relations with about 170 associations, consisting of dozens of thousands artisans and farmers in 50 countries. It guarantees the import of products at fair trade conditions in order to meet the real production costs and allow dignified wages. It ensures transparency in the cooperation projects and long-term business relations. It actively supports organic farming and it promotes environmental and social self-development projects.

Altromercato offers unique creations that are hand-made with natural or recycled materials. They combine traditional craft techniques from many countries with a modern design that interprets arts, sustainability and everyday use and tells stories about dignity and respect throughout the production and distribution process.

Within the Altromercato range you can find: fashion garments, homeware, natural cosmetics, food and fresh fruit. Since 2010 we also offer a selection of Italian products made by social cooperatives, under the Solidale Italiano Altromercato brand.
