Boffi opened in 1934 as a small kitchen furniture workshop.
Search for more and more beautiful forms, technological innovations and a perfect mix of modernity and tradition have made Boffi famous all over the world.
Its products have been exhibited at the Triennale in Milan, at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at the universal Expo ’85 of Tsukuba in Japan. In 1995 Boffi was awarded the “Golden Compass”. In 2003 Boffi has reinforced its corporate image by gaving the ISO 9002 - 2000 certification. In 2004 the bathroom tap Cut, design Tessarollo-Cerato, was selected for Compasso d’Oro and in the same year wins the “Red Dot” award for best product design. Boffi has achieved some significant results since Piero Lissoni and Roberto Gavazzi joined the company in 1989: creation of a complete bathroom concept, with both production and distribution; presentations of Boffi products to international markets in dedicated spaces and exhibitions outside the Milan furnishing exhibition; acquisition, in 2003, of Norbert Wangen, a top quality German brand; opening of Boffi flagship stores in major cities all over the world including BY concept stores that see Boffi partner with Porro and Living Divani in 2007.
In 2010 Boffi projects a collaboration with Fantini in order to create a new brand: Aboutwater. In the same year Boffi also successfully completed the ISO 14001 certification process. This important step was natural for a company where the culture of sustainability has, throughout its history, always been relevant. As a core player in the history of Italian design, sustainability is part of Boffi’s values, culture, creative technology and entrepreneurship, and is at the heart of every decision, phase of planning, production and control.
Boffi extended its activities further in to storage systems. Solferino, an innovative third generation wardrobe, with patented technologies, was launched in 2010.
In 2012 the direct mono-brand showrooms become 24.
